Moneta Privacy Policy

Effective date: October 3, 2026.

About Moneta

Moneta is a personal finance app provided by Neurona.dev. It does not require an online account. This policy covers the mobile app, not cookies or unrelated services on the Neurona.dev website.

Financial Records Stored on Your Device

Accounts, categories, transactions, amounts, notes, budgets, scheduled transactions, and preferences are stored in the app's local database. Moneta does not upload these records to a Moneta server or include them in diagnostic reports. The app has no automatic cloud synchronization.

When you export or share a backup or spreadsheet, you choose the destination and receiving app. Those files can contain your financial records. Keep them secure; the receiving service's privacy practices also apply. Restore replaces local app data with the selected backup.

Optional Error and Stability Reports

Diagnostic sharing is off by default. If you enable it, Moneta sends technical error reports and session stability information to Sentry, a third-party diagnostic service, to identify and fix software problems. Reporting is not used for advertising, profiling, or tracking which financial features you use.

Reports can include event/session identifiers, timestamps, app version and build, platform, error types, and technical code locations. Error messages are replaced with a privacy notice. Reports exclude financial records, account/category names, notes, user identity, screenshots, recordings, breadcrumbs, logs, attachments, and performance traces. Uploaded source maps are app source code, not your app database.

The current Android integration includes JavaScript errors and, in native builds, Java/Kotlin exceptions after consent has loaded. Native C/C++ crashes and iOS native crashes are not collected by this implementation. Native error reports are not saved to disk for later transmission, so offline crashes may be lost.

Reports are sent over HTTPS to Sentry's US-region ingestion service. Network communication necessarily exposes a source IP to the service in transit; the project is configured not to store IP addresses or inferred geographic fields in event reports. See Sentry's privacy policy for the provider's privacy practices.

You can stop new reports in Preferences by turning off diagnostic sharing. This does not recall an already transmitted report or cancel a request already in progress. Moneta does not assign a named user identifier to reports, so it may not be possible to identify an individual report later. Contact support with a report identifier if you have one and want assistance with removal.

Sentry retains error events according to the plan active when the event is received: 30 days on its free plan and 90 days on its Team/Business plans. Moneta is intended to use the free plan. During Sentry's temporary Business trial, error events can have the longer retention period. Changing plans does not extend the retention of earlier events. See Sentry's retention guidance for the provider's retention details. Contact support for deletion assistance; turning off reporting does not delete previous reports.

Notifications and Feedback

Notification preferences and scheduled movement data are stored on your device. Notification permission is optional and controlled by your device settings. Feedback is handed to an app you choose; Moneta does not attach your financial database to feedback. Any message and optional contact address you enter are shared only when you complete sending through that app.

Your Choices

You can use Moneta without diagnostic sharing or notifications. You can export your records and erase local data using Delete & Reset. Resetting the app does not delete exported files, files shared to other services, or diagnostic reports already received by Sentry. Uninstalling removes app-local data subject to your device's behavior; external backups remain under your control.

Request Data Deletion

To delete accounts, categories, transactions, budgets, schedules, and preferences stored by Moneta on your device, open Delete & Reset and confirm the reset. Delete any exported backups or spreadsheets separately at their destinations.

For reports already sent to Sentry, email dev.neurona@gmail.com with the subject "Moneta data deletion request". Include a report identifier if you have one, and the approximate time and app version. Do not send financial records, passwords, or account details. We will use the information to try to locate and delete the relevant reports. Because reports are not linked to a named user, we may be unable to identify a specific report without its identifier. Reports that cannot be identified remain subject to Sentry's retention described above. Turning off diagnostic sharing stops new reports, not previous reports.

Contact and Changes

Support/privacy contact: dev.neurona@gmail.com. Policy effective date: October 3, 2026. Changes will be reflected in the policy at https://neurona.dev/moneta/privacy/. Diagnostic collection remains subject to the app's consent controls.
